The Alexander Ark

In case you haven’t heard, California decided to dress up as Seattle this week. Its residents were not on board, however and, unlike Seattle natives, refuse to do anything in the rain. Consequently, work has been suuuuper slow which means i’ve worked like, 10 hours this week. Plus, Joe worked all day shifts so we had a lot of free time together and had to get creative with ways to entertain ourselves in the rain.

We watched ALOT of movies. We finally got “UP” from Netflix and it was sooo amazing. One of my favorite love stories of all time. I want “thanks for the adventure” put on my gravestone. We also discovered that we live a mere 10 minutes away from the $2 theater so on Friday we went and saw “Where the Wild Things Are.” That movie was a little trippy, but very realistic. Max reminded me of so many of the kids I worked with at the Y.

We also cooked alot. We ate dinner together every night this week which has never happened. On Friday we were lucky enough to have our friends Holly and Andy join us. We ate a delicious steak and potato dinner and then the boys played on the Wii while Holly and I browsed the internet for decorating tips. I love hanging out with other newlywed couples. And while we loved all of the together time we had, it was nice to end the week with some friends.

We cleaned the apartment and I finally tackled this box of important papers that has been sitting in our bedroom since we moved in. I filed them all and shredded the unnecessary ones. We also finished making our Christmas presents! yay. So a lucky 17 people will be getting Christmas presents with Thanksgiving wrapping and Valentine’s day cards. Thats how lazy people roll…throw all the holidays together.

It was a pretty exciting week on the job front. I had a telephone interview for a job as the executive assistant to the direcotr of travel and events at In N Out. I think it went pretty well and hopefully I will get a second interview. Joe got to run two day shifts all by himself this week. Its just one of the many steps he has to take in order to get a promotion. It shows that his boss has a lot of faith in him and wants to challenge him so he can get better and get promoted.

Overall, we both kind of enjoyed the rain and definately enjoyed all the time we got to spend together this week. We are poor as hell, but we sure do have alot of fun together!
