2011 Bucket List

Standard

Okay so my last post inspired me to create a 2011 Bucket List. It’s basically a list of resolutions, but I had to rename it after my rant on how much I hate New Year’s resolutions. I will say this though, the bucket list is not general, boring or aimed at making me a better person. Its simply a list of 10 single acts that I want to accomplish in 2011. It was also created because I have a tendency to get excited about doing things and then when I actually have time to do them I forget about them completely. Hopefully with a list floating around in cyber space I’ll remember to do at least half of them. So here it is, my 2011 bucket list:

  1.  Audition for community theater
  2. Make baked goods for my nieghbors, deliver them and pretend that its not wierd that I’m finally introducing myself after living here for a year and a half.
  3. Volunteer one Saturday at the soup kitchen with my church
  4. Take surf lessons. And yes, I will absolutely post video footage of this one so you can laugh at my ridiculous surf “skills.”
  5. Read 5 books off of my reading list
  6. Write a story. Long. short, children’s, a parable it doesn’t matter I just need to write one!
  7. Visit the Huntington Library
  8. Visit Pageant of the Masters
  9. Go to a professional basketball game.
  10. Surprise my hubby with a kitchenaid pasta attachement for absolutely no reason (don’t you dare tell him about this)

If anyone wants to help me with these things or just wants to do them with me, let me know. Things are always more fun with a buddy!

  1. 2 – Yeah, at the previous places I’ve rented, I usually think about this, but the weird I’ve-been-living-here-for-a-long-time-already overwhelmed my desire to bake, so I never actually did.

6 – You know, I’ve been thinking this would be fun to do too, but I don’t have a lot of faith in my ability to actually create a story. Let me know how yours turns out.

    9 – WHY!?

  2. First off.. I am SO glad you starting blogging again. You know it has been like 4 months?!
I will help you with surf lessons. I am no pro myself, but I like to surf and the ocean can eat us together.
I too have been playing around with a book for children.Good luck to you!
I would LOVE to go to the soup kitchen with you. Count me in!!!
And why is not ‘Learning line dancing so I can rock the floor’ on your list? Add it.

    • I can’t believe I forgot line dancing! But if I put more than 10 things it will become overwhelming so as soon as I check off one thing I’ll add line dancing to the list 🙂 I’m so excited that you can help me surf! I had no idea how I was going to accomplish that one. And as for the soup kitchen, Foundations goes the first and fifth saturday of every month. Not sure if I can do February but I am definitely doing March. We’ll talk about it some more as it gets closer. P.S. I need the url for your new blog!
