People Watching

Last weekend my friends Melissa, Grace and I went down to the Dana Point Harbor and did some people watching.

There is something poetic and distinctly “California” about surfers standing on the beach at sunset.

This one is my favorite. So that couple on the sand did something that I find super annoying: they went into the water and then just held each other. Why? The waves are meant for boogie boarding, body surfing, regular surfing or jumping around and screaming. Waves are not for cuddling! And that poor guy on the rock was totally the third wheel and the whole time just stood thier ackwardly while his friends were all over eachother. It was so sad…and a little funny.

These kids built this entire teepee from scratch. They collected the bamboo sticks, tied them at the top with sea weed and collected rocks for the bottom. They worked so hard and they worked seamlessly as a team…it was actually kind of inspiring to watch them.

King of the hill!!!! This guy almost caught me taking a picture of him. Ackward.

Here is a close up of that teepee. I would spend the night in that.
